Tony Hawk Launches RIDE Channel With YouTube

Skateboarding has led the way in the action world to embrace online video - there seems to be a never ending supply of web edits, daily clips and tour footage available through the internet that is updated several times a day and can never quite quench the thirst that the skateboard world has for fresh content.
Once treated as bonus 'throwaway' footage, this has now taken over the traditional skate-DVD and printed magazine as the dominant source of all skateboard related media.
This trend for online publishing is nothing new but you barely have to stretch onto two hands to count the number of platforms that are a definitive source of daily content in the skateboard world - enter TONY HAWK'S new RIDE CHANNEL FOR YOUTUBE.
One thing that strikes you when looking over the list of episodes available on the channel is simply the depth of content that's available. Weekly contributions from JAMIE THOMAS, SLAP MAGAZINE, SKATEPARK OF TAMPA and regular interviews with every pro in the scene prove that Tony Hawk is truly engrained in skateboarding...
Those of you who just know Tony Hawk from the celebrity world of X-Games wins and video games, may be surprised to see just the strength of the underground scene that Tony is backing here.
The huge list artists contributing original content is equally impressive - from photography lessons with ATIBA JEFFERSON to interviews with HENRY ROLLINS, FRANK BLACK and MGMT...
Of course you can still catch all the best from the man himself, with a regular show dedicated to all things Tony Hawk called 'DISSENT' - in addition to an amazingly original concept of rewarding viewer generated clips with cash on the 'SHREDIT' segments!
